2.7 billion years ago, lava poured out of cracks in the primordial ocean floor. The remains of this glowing, volcanic rock formed the Canadian Shield in northeast Minnesota. Out of these mountains sprang the Iron Range. And then I was born in the suburbs of Minneapolis.

My heart was built from my home, and my home is the state of beasts, the state of beards, and the palace of warriors. I ride a blazing chariot of fire through the wilderness carving my name into the earth in search of truth and beauty and pizza.
